Prashar Lake in Winter
Prashar lake is located at Kulu valley in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh, India. This lake is very famous in locals & one of the most sacred lake in Mandi District. Next to the lakes lies the temple of Prashar Rishi & you can watch a breathtaking 180 degree view of the Pir Pinjal, & Dhauladhar Mountain ranges. The lake is located at a height of 2730 m above sea level. The trek to Prashar Lake is very beautiful & scenic as it follows through a reserved forest, small streams and scenic cultivated-lands.
Behind the lens:
By the time of my visit, the lake was completely frozen and white dominated every part of this beautiful landscape. Sun was just setting down below the mountain facing the lake. So i took this shot with a hurry so that i can include sun bast into my shot. Sometimes in landscape photography little thing like this can create wonder. So I took this shot with no tripod, with no filters. Yes, I had to bracket the shot to get the entire dynamic range of the scene and then blend it manually in Photoshop using luminosity masking to look more natural.
